#12 Women’s Tennis Eases Past Trinity 9-0

The 12th-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team claimed its third-consecutive win with a 9-0 shutout at Trinity.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The tandem of Gena Huang and Claudia Miller got things going in the second slot, earning an 8-2 victory for the first point of the day.
  • Nina Farhat and Lulu Wu cruised to an 8-1 win at #3, before the duo of Sahana Raman and Nathalie van der Reis triumphed 8-2 in the top spot for the early 3-0 lead.
  • Huang and Raman continued their winning ways in singles, claiming straight-set victories at #4 and #1, respectively, to clinch the match.
  • Other wins came from Charlotte McCann at #6 by identical 6-1 scores, Amy Delman in the fifth slot with a complete shutout (6-0, 6-0), Miller at #3 (6-3, 6-2) and Wu in a second-slot thriller (4-6, 6-1, 1-0(7)). 
NOTES
  • The Panthers improved to 11-0 all-time against the Bantams.
  • Huang claimed her 40th career singles win, while extending her unbeaten streak to three.
  • McCann is riding a four-match winning streak. 
Middlebury looks to hand #4 Wesleyan its first loss of the season, when the squad travels to Cardinal territory on Sunday for a 2:00 p.m. start.
