#9 Men’s Tennis Blanks Trinity

The ninth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team swept doubles action and never looked back en route to a 9-0 sweep at Trinity.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The pair of Hugh Hentschel and Thehan Wijemanne earned an 8-2 win at the second spot to kickstart the morning. 
  • Neel Epstein and Robby Ward followed with an 8-4 victory at #1, before tandem Aidan Harris and Julian Wu closed out doubles with an 8-3 triumph in the third slot.
  • Noah Lewis increased the Panther advantage to 4-0 with identical 6-1 scores at #4, before Wu clinched the match at the top of the lineup (6-3, 6-0).
  • Other wins came from Nathan Jackson at #6 (6-2, 6-0), Harris at #3 (6-0, 6-1), Hentschel at #5 (6-4, 6-0) and Epstein in the second slot (7-5, 7-5).  
NOTES
  • Epstein extended his winning streak to nine-straight triumphs, while Jackson claimed his seventh-consecutive singles victory. Both own a 12-3 mark on the year.
  •  The Hentschel/Wijemanne and Epstein/Ward duos each earned their fourth-straight victories in doubles action.
  • The teams played for the 25th time. 
Middlebury has a quick turnaround, traveling to Wesleyan on Sunday for a 10:00 a.m. start.
