Women’s Track & Field Begins Spring Break At Ross & Sharon Irwin Invite

Daggitt won the long jump with a mark of 5.46m.
The Middlebury women's outdoor track and field team began its season at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Invite hosted by Point Loma in California.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Macy Daggitt highlighted the day, winning the long jump with a mark of 5.46 meters. 
  • Finishing as the first runner attached to a school in the 5,000-meter was Audrey MacLean, crossing the finish line with a time of 17:17.26. Violet Ross was next for the Panthers in seventh (18:24.58), while Josie Dolan was 10th (18:54.09). 
  • The 4x400 relay squad of Michelle Louie, Ciara Dale, Annabel Cloney and Anna Krouse finished in third place with a clocking of 3:56.93.
  • Reilly Isler earned bronze in the javelin with a toss of 36.65m, while Jaxon Palmer was one spot behind, launching the implement 36.04m. 
  • Rounding out the third-place finishers was Dale in the 400 hurdles, stopping the clock in 1:03.53. Cate Kreutzen also earned a place in the top-10, finishing seventh (1:07.65). 
  • In the high jump, Brooke Dolan and Gabriella Gerig each cleared the bar at 1.50m, but Dolan grabbed fourth place, while Gerig was sixth based on attempts.
  • Other fifth-place finishes came from Madeline Sauders in the discus (37.46m), Palmer in the hammer (39,71m), Mary Scott Robinson in the shot put (11.06m) and Lily Bulczynski in the 800 (2:17.90).
NOTES
  • Personal-best performances came from Isler in the javelin, Victoria Fawcett in the 1,500 (4:52.01), Addie Morrison in the 400 (1:01.61), Louie and Katie Bruno in the 100 (12.6 and 12.89 seconds) and Bulczynski in the 800.
  • The meet featured schools from all three NCAA divisions. 
Several Panthers will compete in the Mangrum Invitational on Friday, while the rest of the squad returns to Point Loma for the PLNU Track & Field Invitational on Saturday.
