Middlebury Finishes Sixth At DIII New England Championship, DMR Wins Event

Zoe Wang broke her own school record in the pole vault.
The Middlebury women's indoor track and field team placed sixth out of 27 teams at the Division III New England Championship. Massachusetts Institute of Technology claimed the crown with 130.33 points, while Williams was the runner-up (96 points) and Amherst was a close third (95 points). The Panthers accumulated 43.5 points. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The distance medley relay (DMR) comprised of Tatum Peskin, Annabel Cloney, Ciara Dale and Audrey MacLean stood atop of the podium after leading the field to the finish line with a time of 12:09.41. 
  • Mary Scott Robinson placed fifth in the weight throw, launching the implement a school-record distance of 15.41m to erase the previous mark of 15.08m which was set back in 2008. Robinson also finished in 12th in the shot put with a mark of 11.45m. 
  • Zoe Wang broke her own school record in the pole vault, soaring over the bar at a height of 3.68m to place fifth. Her previous program mark of 3.61m was set in 2022. 
  • The 4x400-meter relay team (Michelle Louie, Mary Elliot, Lily Bulczynski, Anna Krouse) clocked in at 3:52.69 to garner third place out of 22 squads. 
  • MacLean broke the 10-minute mark in the 3,000 for the first time, earning bronze with a time of 9:54.55. 
  • The 4x200 relay squad (Melissa White, Katie Bruno, Cloney and Dale) placed third with a clocking of 1:44.55. 
  • Macy Daggitt finished in fifth place in the long jump, hitting the sand at 5.43m. 
  • The quartet of Cate Kreutzen, Ashley Raynor, Elle Thompson and Winnie Wang finished in seventh in the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:38.08.
  • Sheldyn Fisher and Caroline VanSchaick both recorded personal-record times in the 1,000. Fisher clocked in at 3:03.90 to earn seventh place, while VanSchaick was 11th with a time of 3:05.78.
  • In the 60-meter hurdles, Emma Mills secured 13th place with a clocking of 9.48 seconds.
  • Also earning 13th place was White, stopping the clock in 26.08 seconds in the 200.
  • Cracking the top-20 spots in the 60 dash was Olive Lawrence (8.00) and Daggitt (8.02), finishing in 16th and 19th, respectively.
  • Victoria Fawcett placed 17th in the mile, recording a personal-best time of 5:12.49.
NOTES
  • Individuals who place in the top-five spots, and relays who finish in the top-three places earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors.  
Select Panthers head back to The TRACK At New Balance on Friday for the Open New England Championship, which will feature competitors from all three NCAA divisions.
