The Middlebury men's basketball team fell 66-46 at Tufts on Saturday during a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers got out to a quick start, rattling off the initial four points, before taking a 9-3 advantage on a three-pointer from Noah Osher at the 14:39 mark.
- The Jumbos cut the deficit down to a pair of points on several occasions, before a 5-0 burst late in the half put Tufts in front 30-27 with 1:50 remaining.
- Middlebury's David Brennan converted a charity toss in the final minute to slice the lead down to 30-28 at the halftime break.
- Knotted at 35 points apiece at the 16:31 mark of the second stanza, the Jumbos went on a decisive 16-3 run spanning nearly five minutes of action to take a 51-38 advantage.
- With just under 10 minutes remaining, the Panthers cut the deficit to 11 (53-42) with a floating jumper by Osher, but that was as close as they would get.
- Tufts closed out the contest with a 13-4 run for the final 66-46 victory.
