Gavin Randolph Wins NCAA Elite 90 Award

Gavin Randolph becomes the first Elite 90 Award winner in Middlebury men's soccer history.

Gavin Randolph of the #3 Middlebury men's soccer team has earned the NCAA's Elite 90 Award.

ABOUT THE AWARD

  • The award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. 
  • The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) participating at the site of the finals for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

ABOUT RANDOLPH

  • Randolph becomes the seventh Panther student-athlete and the first men's soccer player to receive the honor.
  • Majoring in computer science and economics, the junior has a perfect 4.00 grade point average.
  • The Panther is a strong contributor to the attack, tallying six goals and three assists.
  • His 15 total points put him in a tie for third on the squad.
  • The All-NESCAC Second Team selection has played and started in 18 contests.
  • The forward has helped the team to consecutive unbeaten regular seasons for the first time since the early 1970s and its second NCAA Championship weekend appearance in program history. 

Randolph and the Panthers continue their push for the program's second NCAA Championship when the squad battles #8 Amherst on Thursday in the national semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.
