The #5 Middlebury men's soccer team trailed 2-1 at the halftime break against Bowdoin, but the Panthers battled back and tallied three goals in a span of 11:53 during the second stanza for a 4-2 come-from-behind triumph.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The visitors got on the board just 4:27 into the game after Tyler Payne sent a pass toward the middle of the field. The bouncing ball found the feet of a charging Colin Dugan, who ripped a shot into the lower-left corner for the 1-0 lead.
- The Polar Bears pulled level (1-1) with 19:49 expired. Gaining possession in the Middlebury end, Tyler Huck sent a through ball to a sprinting Arthur Dos Santos who made one touch to his left before blasting a rising bid past Panther goalie Joey Waterman into the bottom-left 90.
- Bowdoin gained a 2-1 advantage nearly five minutes later when Carlton Steinberg pounced on a bouncing ball in the penalty box, sending a left-footed shot into the bottom portion of the net.
- Middlebury looked to even the contest with 8:44 showing on the opening-half clock, but Polar Bear goalie Alex Ainsworth saved a header from Luke Madden to preserve the one-goal edge.
- Bowdoin looked to add to its lead nearly five minutes into the second stanza, but Waterman made a diving save to his right on a header by Ronaldo Cabral.
- The Panthers searched for the game-tying tally, as a headed ball by Payne from the right side was punched just over the crossbar by Ainsworth with 9:02 elapsed.
- Following a Bowdoin red card with 21 minutes left in regulation, Middlebury was a player up and knotted the contest with 17:24 remaining. Ari Klayman sent a cross into the box to the feet of Keagan Harder who redirected it into the right panel of the net.
- The Panthers continued to apply the pressure, taking a 3-2 edge just 2:42 later. Eduardo Casanova lofted a cross into the box, as Dugan gathered the ball and blasted a left-footed shot into the right side of the goal.
- Bowdoin looked for the equalizer with just under 10 minutes left, but a bid from inside the box by Huck was blocked to keep it a one-goal Middlebury lead.Â
- The Panthers increased their advantage to 4-2 in the 85th minute. Klayman dribbled down the left side, sending a cross to Kyle Nilsson who tapped the bending pass inside the right post with 5:31 showing.
- Huck looked to bring the Polar Bears closer with a header from 10 yards with 3:20 remaining, but Panther Antonio Cosentino was there on the right post to deny the shot and give Middlebury a 4-2 victory.
NOTES
- Dugan's two goals and four points are both single-game career highs, while Klayman's pair of helpers are also a career best.
- Casanova'a assist was his team-leading fourth this fall.
- The programs played for the 43rd meeting in an all-time series in which the Panthers hold a 19-14-10 edge. Saturday's contest was the first in the last 10 matchups to be decided by more than one goal.
Middlebury returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Bridgewater State for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
