Late First-Half Run Sinks Middlebury Against #7 Keene State

The Middlebury men's basketball team even the contest at 27-27 with 4:41 to go in the first half, but a 17-2 run to end the opening stanza propelled seventh-ranked Keene State past the Panthers 84-66 on Monday night.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Leading 11-7 after 3:35, the Owls jumped out to a 16-7 edge on a three-pointer by Spencer Aronson and a pull-up jumpshot by Alonzo Linton.
  • Keene State continued to extend its lead, moving ahead by double digits (21-11) on a shot from beyond the arc by Wesley Odiase with 12:19 to go.
  • Middlebury roared back, rattling off a 15-6 run highlighted by six points from David Brennan to even the contest at 27-27 with 4:41 remaining.
  • The Owls pushed their lead back to double digits, closing the half with a furious 17-2 run to head into the locker room with a 44-29 advantage. 
  • The visitors continued to add to their lead out of the halftime break, moving ahead by 20 (64-44) on a dunk by Jeff Hunter with 7:32 elapsed in the second half. 
  • Keene State was not challenged for the remainder of the contest as it secured the 84-66 triumph.
NOTES
  • With 12 points tonight, Noah Osher moved into 15th place in the program's all-time scoring list.
Middlebury returns to conference play on Friday when it hosts Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m.
