Erica Barr and
Hope Shue have been named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Players of the Week. Barr earned defensive player of the week honors, while Shue was tabbed the offensive player of the week. The pair helped lead the Panthers to their third-straight NCAA Championship with a 17-9 victory Sunday over Gettysburg.

BARR'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Barr earned a place on the NCAA All-Tournament team for the second-straight year.
- She anchored a Middlebury defensive unit that limited Franklin & Marshall to 13 goals, including five in the first half and forced 16 turnovers in the NCAA Semifinal victory.Â
- During Sunday's championship game, Barr and the Panthers held Gettysburg to just three goals in the opening half.Â
- The Bullets tallied nine goals in the title tilt, well below their season average of nearly 16 goals per game.Â
- Barr stifled the Bullet offense with a career-high seven caused turnovers and also picked up five groundballs in the title game.Â
- In the victory, Barr became both the program's single-season (48) and career leader (110) in caused turnovers.Â
SHUE'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Shue was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and garnered a spot on the all-tournament team.
- She scored seven goals to go along with an assist during Sunday's national championship game against the Bullets.
- In Friday's semifinal victory over Franklin & Marshall, Shue tallied four goals and assisted on three others to propel Middlebury to a 22-13 win.
- Sunday's scoring output marked the fifth time this season that Shue has tallied seven markers in a contest, with each coming against nationally-ranked foes
- Shue broke the Middlebury single-season record for tallies in a season with 83, placing her first among NESCAC peers this season. She also paced the league in goals per game (3.77) and points per game (4.77).
- The Panther recorded 42 free-position tallies this season, including four during the NCAA title contest. Her 1.91 free-position goals per contest rank second in Division III and lead the conference.
- Shue became the second Middlebury women's lacrosse player to eclipse 100 points in a season (105).Â
Barr, Shue and the rest of the Panthers claimed their fourth NCAA Championship in the last six seasons and ninth in the program's history.
