Hope Shue was awarded the Elite 90 trophy on Thursday.

Hope Shue of the top-ranked Middlebury women's lacrosse team has been named the NCAA Elite 90 award winner.
ABOUT THE AWARD
- The award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in their sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers.
- The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the site of the finals for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
ABOUT SHUE
- Shue becomes just the fourth student-athlete in Middlebury history to win the honor, and the third women's lacrosse player.
- Majoring in neuroscience, Shue owns a perfect 4.00 GPA.
- The Panther earned IWLCA All-American First Team, IWLCA All-Region First Team and All-NESCAC First Team praise this year.
- The midfielder leads the conference in goals (72) and is second in points (90).
- Shue tied a NESCAC Tournament record, tallying seven goals in both the quarterfinals and semifinals. The semifinal matchup was the fourth-straight game in which Shue scored seven markers.
- The Panther is a CSC Academic All-District honoree, and is currently on the national ballot for All-America consideration.
Shue and the rest of the Middlebury squad continue its NCAA title defense when they face #8 Franklin & Marshall in final four action on Friday, May 26 at noon.
