Several Panthers Compete At Open New Englands

Julia Tulimieri placed 19th in the shot put.
Several members of the Middlebury women's track and field team competed at the Open New England Championships on Friday and Saturday. The meet is comprised of competitors from all three NCAA divisions and was hosted by Northeastern. 
 
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
  • On Friday night, Violet Ross competed in the 5,000 meters. The Panther placed 22nd in a field of 31 with a time of 18:40.56. 
  • Emily Vivanco (40:34.30) and Keegan McAuliffe (40:57.52) finished in 18th and 19th, respectively in the 10,000. 
  • Cady Barns rounded out the first day of competition for Middlebury, stopping the clock in 12.42 seconds in the 100 to place 16th. 
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the shot put, Julia Tulimieri launched the implement 11.74m to finish in 19th place. 
  • The first Division III finisher in the 400 hurdles was Ciara Dale, clocking in at a blistering 1:03.03 to place fifth overall.
  • The 4x400 relay quartet of Michelle Louie, Elle Thompson, Anna Krouse and Dale combined for a time of 3:56.81. The Panthers finished in eighth overall and were the second Division III squad. 
Middlebury will have several competitors at the Williams Last Chance meet on Wednesday before the field for the NCAA Championships is announced on May 21.
