The Middlebury baseball team has eclipsed the 20-win plateau for just the sixth time in program history, cruising to a 10-5 victory at Skidmore.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Panthers raced out to a 5-0 advantage in a strong opening inning. Alec Ritch scored on a double down the right line by Kyle McCausland, before John Collins scampered home on a wild pitch. McCausland took advantage of an error by the catcher to score later, a base-hit by Lucas Flemming plated Nathan Samii, and Jack Stolper touched home as part of a double steal to cap the scoring at five runs. 
• Sammy Smith homered in the fourth to make it 6-0, before Middlebury added a trio of runs in the fifth inning. Chris Borter got things going with a single to drive in Samii, before Ritch belted a three-run round-tripper to increase the lead to 10-0.
• The Thoroughbreds got one back in the sixth, before a home run by Sam Kornet in the seventh inning cut the deficit to 10-3.
• Skidmore added tallies in the eighth and ninth innings for the 10-5 final score.

NOTES

• Collins has hit safely in nine-straight games, recording the 100th base knock of his career in tonight's win.
• Stolper is riding a seven-game hitting streak.
• Middlebury and Skidmore met for the 34th time, with the Panthers adding to their overall winning record (24-10). 

Middlebury closes out the home portion of the regular season on Wednesday, hosting Castleton at 4:00 p.m.
