#4 Women’s Tennis Sweeps Hamilton In Regular-Season Finale

The fourth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team blanked Hamilton 9-0 on Senior Day in the regular-season finale for both teams. With the win, the Panthers have won four-straight matches headed into the NESCAC Tournament. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panther duo of Gena Huang and Claudia Miller didn't lose a game in the second spot to claim the match's first point (8-0).
  • At #3, the tandem of Nina Farhat and Sami Remis won the final six games to cruise past their opponents 8-2, while Sahana Raman and Amy Delman turned a 6-6 score into an 8-6 win in the top spot. 
  • Huang kept things rolling and claimed a 6-1, 6-1 triumph in the fourth position during singles play to put Middlebury up 4-0. 
  • In the #3 slot, Lulu Wu clinched the victory for the Panthers with a 6-1, 6-2 decision.
  • Raman eased to a 6-2, 6-4 win atop the lineup, while Brinlea La Barge edged her opponent in a pair of tightly-contested sets at #5 by scores of 7-6 (4), 6-4.
  • Delman made it an 8-0 score in favor of Middlebury with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph in the second slot, while Amanda Frank completed the sweep behind a 6-1, 6-1 win at #6.
NOTES
  • Prior to the match, Middlebury honored seniors Frank and La Barge for their dedication to the program.
  • La Barge earned her seventh-straight victory in singles action, while Frank and Raman both picked up their fourth wins in a row.
  • The victory for Raman and Delman at #1 doubles was the duo's fifth straight, including a perfect 5-0 in NESCAC matches.
  • Middlebury and Hamilton met for the 11th time on Sunday with the Panthers earning wins in every match.
The Panthers return to action next weekend when they compete in the NESCAC Tournament. Seedings and matchups will be announced in the upcoming days by the conference office.
