Reilly Isler tallied a pair of top-five finishes in the throws.
The 20th-ranked Middlebury women's track and field team won the Carla Coffey Invitational hosted by Smith on Saturday. The Panthers tallied 171.50 points to claim the title, while Amherst (153.20 points) and #10 Tufts (145.40 points) rounded out the top-three.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Princeton, Kate Kenny and Audrey Grimes finished ninth and 10th overall. Kenny crossed the finish line in 11:09.34, while Grimes stopped the clock in 11:21.24.
- Bea Parr had the latest event of the night, placing 20th in the 5,000 with a time of 18:19.92.
- Several Panthers competed in field events on Friday at the Carla Coffey Invite. Middlebury took second, third and fourth place in the hammer throw. Jaxon Palmer led the way with a personal-best toss of 42.21m. Mary Scott Robinson was next (39.24m), while Reilly Isler rounded out the group (37.06m).
- Palmer and Isler also finished in the top-five in the javelin, placing fourth (34.41m) and fifth (31.77m), respectively.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Emily Rubio started the day strong for the Panthers, winning the heptathlon that had events spanning both Friday and Saturday. Rubio tallied 4,344 points, highlighted by individual victories in the 100 hurdles (14.93), the high jump (1.65m), the 200 (26.98), and the long jump (4.98m).
- In the 3,000 steeplechase, Tatum Peskin crossed the finish line first with a time of 11:31.06. Peskin shaved just over 10 seconds off her previous personal best clocking to earn the victory.
- The 4x400 relay quartet of Michelle Louie, Ciara Dale, Anna Krouse and Elle Thompson claimed the crown with a winning time of 3:56.81.
- Madeline Sauders was victorious in the discus, tossing the implement 35.17 meters.
- The 4x100 relay squad of Melissa White, Louie, Cady Barns and Eva Kaiden earned runner-up honors with a school record clocking of 47.69. The previous time of 47.82 was set by the same group in the season-opening meet.
- Thompson rounded out the second place finishing with a time of 2:16.91 in the 800.
The Panthers return home for the Middlebury Outdoor Invitational on Saturday, where the team will also honor its seniors.
