#6 Panthers Earn 6-3 Triumph At Colby

The sixth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team got back to its winning ways, earning a 6-3 victory at Colby. The Panthers picked up their 16th-consecutive triumph over the Mules. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The top Middlebury pair of Sahana Raman and Amy Delman claimed the first six games and earned an 8-2 victory to give the visitors an early 1-0 edge.
  • At #2, Brinlea La Barge and Claudia Miller turned a 3-3 tie into a 6-3 advantage and never looked back during an 8-4 triumph.
  • The Panthers took a 3-0 lead heading into singles play when the third doubles team of Sami Remis and Nina Farhat moved out to a 4-0 lead and cruised to an 8-2 win.
  • Delman tallied a straight-set victory in the second spot (6-3, 6-1), while Lulu Wu clinched the match. Knotted 2-2 in the first set, Wu moved out to a 5-2 lead and didn't look back for a two-set win (6-4, 6-1).
  • The Mules pulled to within 5-2 with a triumph at #5.
  • Raman rallied from a set down for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory in the top spot for a 6-1 advantage.
  • Colby recorded a pair of three-set wins at #6 and #4 for the final 6-3 score.
NOTES
  • Wu picked up her 15th victory as a Panther.
  • Middlebury and Colby have squared off 26 times in the all-time series, with the Panthers holding a 22-4 advantage. 
The Panthers return to action on Sunday, traveling to 17th-ranked Bowdoin with the first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
