#5 Men’s Tennis Blanks Connecticut College

The fifth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team blanked Connecticut College 9-0, extending its winning streak to four consecutive victories. 

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panther tandem of Joe Mairs and Julian Wu raced out to a 7-0 advantage at #3, relinquishing just one game to claim the day's first point (8-1).
  • At the top of the ladder, Aidan Harris and Noah Laber cruised past their opponents 8-2, while Neel Epstein and Robby Ward eased to an 8-5 win at #2.
  • Epstein kept things going in the second slot during singles action, putting Middlebury up 4-0 with a straight-set triumph (6-2, 6-1). 
  • In the fourth spot, Nathan Jackson won both sets by identical 6-3 scorelines to clinch the victory for the Panthers. 
  • Hugh Hentschel earned a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at #5, while Harris outlasted his opponent (2-6, 6-1, 6-0) at the top of the lineup.
  • Ward dropped just two games in the third spot (6-0, 6-2), while Mairs closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #6.
NOTES
  • Epstein earned his fourth-straight victory. 
  • The teams met for the 12th time today, with Middlebury claiming its 12th-straight win over the Camels.  
The Panthers are idle until next Saturday when they travel to #6 Williams for a crucial conference bout.
