#3 Men’s Tennis Races Past Skidmore 8-1

The third-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team downed Skidmore 8-1 on Sunday afternoon to claim its third win in as many tries in the spring season.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers took a 2-1 edge following the doubles portion of the match.
  • Neel Epstein and Robby Ward eased to a 8-2 victory at #2, while Zihao Yuan and Julian Wu tallied an 8-3 win at #3.

  • Epstein claimed the first victory in singles play, winning in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) in the third spot.
  • Aidan Harris won 6-3, 6-4 at #2 to increase the Panther lead to 4-1.
  • In the top spot, Noah Laber earned a hard-fought three set triumph (7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-4) to clinch the match for the Panthers, while Robby Ward downed his opponent in three sets (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) to make the score 6-1.
  • Wu (#5) cruised to a straight-sets victory without conceding a point (6-0, 6-0) and Yuan (#6) secured a 6-3, 6-2 win to make the final score 8-1.
