Middlebury Records 17 Personal-Best Performances In Outdoor Opener

Eva Kaiden recorded a pair of personal-record times in the opening meet.
The Middlebury women's outdoor track and field team posted 17 several personal best performances on opening day of the outdoor season. The Panthers competed at the Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational in California during spring break, a meet featuring athletes from all three NCAA divisions. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Fresh off of her All-American performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Kate Kenny highlighted the meet with a runner-up finish in the 1,500-meters, clocking in at 4:37.10. Bea Parr (4:43.23) and Tatum Peskin (4:44.94) each posted personal-best times, finishing in sixth and seventh, respectively. Peskin also placed seventh in the 800, clocking in with a personal record time of 2:19.90.
  • In the long jump, Olive Lawrence placed third with a leap of 5.43-meters, while Briana Johnson was ninth with a personal best mark of 5.18m. 
  • The 4x400 relay of Elle Thompson, Anna Krouse, Mary Elliott and Lily Bulczynski finished in third place in the final event of the day, stopping the clock in 3:57.72. 
  • In the 400 hurdles, Ciara Dale posted a personal-best time of 1:03.15, which was good for fourth place. 
  • In the triple jump, Cady Barns registered a distance of 11.23m, to claim fifth place. 
  • Violet Ross and Morgane Orcutt finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively in the 5,000. Ross clocked in at 18:18.59, while Orcutt had a personal-best time of 18:26.66.
NOTES The Panthers will remain in California and compete at the Mangrum Invitational hosted by San Marcos on Friday and the PLNU Collegiate Open on Saturday.
