The Middlebury nordic ski team will send a full squad to the 2023 NCAA Championships next week, as six Panthers were selected for competition. The four-day event will take place March 8-11 at Mt. Van Hoevenberg and Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York, with St. Lawrence University serving as the host school.

ABOUT MIDDLEBURY
- Middlebury is making its 62nd all-time appearance in the NCAA Championships.
- The Panthers have landed in the top-10 places in 55 championships and recorded a top-five showing 15 times. Program highlights include a runner-up finish in 1961 and a pair of third-place finishes (1955, 1956).Â
- The nordic team has posted top-four finishes in all but one event this carnival season. The men won the 5K sprint title during the St. Michael's Carnival and the women claimed the 20K mass start one week later at New Hampshire.Â
- Combined with the alpine team, Middlebury tallied a quartet of top-three carnival finishes this season.
- In the men's competition, Jack Christner, Logan Moore and Willson Moore will race for the Panthers, while the women's events will feature Shea Brams, Quincy Massey-Bierman and Charlotte Ogden. Sam Hodges will also be an alternate for the championship.
- W. Moore will be competing in his third NCAA Championship, while Ogden is taking part in her second as a Panther. L. Moore was an alternate for last year's event but didn't compete.Â
WOMEN'S PREVIEW
Brams
- Brams was recently named an EISA All-East First-Team selection.Â
- During her rookie campaign, she landed a spot on the podium five times, while placing in the top 10 in nine out of 12 races.
- Brams won the 20K classic at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Carnival and finished as the 10K freestyle runner-up at Bates on opening weekend.
Massey-Bierman
- Massey-Bierman has finished in the top-20 places in 11 of her 12 races.
- She finished in third place during the freestyle sprint on the opening day of the Saint Michael's Carnival and was also a member of the runner-up 3x5K relay at Harvard.
- On the final day of the New Hampshire Carnival, Massey-Bierman skied to fifth place in the 20K classic.
Ogden
- Ogden is competing in her second NCAA Championship. She finished 13th in the 5K classic and was 31st in the 15K freestyle during the 2022 national event.
- The Panther was named an EISA All-East Second-Team honoree and she has earned a top-five spot on four occasions this winter.
- Her campaign was highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 20K classic at the UNH Carnival
- The captain was also a member of the second-place 3x5K relay at Harvard.
MEN'S PREVIEW
Christner
- Christner was consistent in every discipline this winter, skiing to a top-20 spot in all but one race.
- He started his year off with solid performances during the 7.5K freestyle at Bates (sixth) and crossed the finish line in fifth place during the freestyle sprint at Saint Michael's a week later.
- Christner has tallied a trio of top-10 efforts over the last four races, highlighted by sixth-place and seventh-place finishes at Williams.
L. Moore
- L. Moore has been a stalwart on the men's side this year and was named an EISA All-East Second-Team recipient.Â
- He placed in the top-10 spots in all 12 races this winter. His best finishes came in the Bates 7.5K freestyle and the 20K classic at UNH, placing fourth in both events.Â
- L. Moore was also a member of the 3x5K relay that finished in third at the Harvard Carnival.Â
W. Moore
- W. Moore is competing in his third NCAA Championship. He skied in the 10K freestyle during the 2020 season but didn't finish the course. In 2022, he was 23rd in the 10K classic and 32nd during the 20K freestyle events.
- The Panther has also been a consistent scorer for Middlebury this year and garnered EISA All-East Second-Team laurels.
- He skied to a spot on the podium in an individual and relay event this season.
- W. Moore finished in third place in the 10K classic and was part of the third-place 3x5K relay at the Harvard Carnival.Â
