Dale was crowned the New England Champion in the 600.
The Middlebury women's track and field team placed fourth at the Division III New England Championship this weekend. The Panthers tallied 77.83 points over the two-day span, recording their best finish since 2019. Williams claimed the crown in the 27-team field with 127.33 points, while Tufts (108 points) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (89.50 points) rounded out the top-three spots.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Ciara Dale highlighted the second day of competition, winning the 600-meters with a personal-record time of 1:36.11. Elle Thompson also placed in the top 10, clocking in at 1:37.79 to earn fourth place.
- In the triple jump, Cady Barns was the runner-up, leaping to a distance of 11.73m. The mark set a school record, erasing Barns' previous mark of 11.66m which was set on January 8. Lucy Pollitt finished two spots back in fourth, earning All-New England honors with a personal-record mark of 11.35m.
- After winning the pentathlon on day one, Emily Rubio tied for third place in the high jump on Saturday, soaring to a height of 1.60m.
- Kate Kenny rounded out the top-three performances, placing third in the mile with a clocking of 5:04.01.
- The 4x800 relay quartet of Lily Bulczynski, Anna Krouse, Tatum Peskin and Bridget Ulian finished in seventh place with a time of 9:35.37.
- Eva Kaiden earned an individual and relay eighth-place finish. In the 200, Kaiden earned all-region honors with a clocking of 26.05. Kaiden teamed up with Michelle Louie, Dale and Annabel Cloney in the 4x400 relay, recording a time of 4:02.68.
Several Panthers will travel to Tufts on March 4 for the National Qualifying Meet, with the NCAA Championship field being announced on March 5.
