Sprinters & Distance Runners Compete at BU Valentine Invitational

Bridget Ulian paced the Panthers in the 800 with a PR.
Several sprinters and distance runners of the Middlebury women's track and field team competed at the Boston University (BU) David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday night. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bea Parr started the day off for the Panthers, competing in the 5,000 meters. In a field of 70 runners, Parr placed 21st with a time of 17:49.48.
  • In the 800, Bridget Ulian led the way with a personal-best time of 2:20.85. Ulian placed 170th in a massive field of 248. Lily Bulczynski (2:23.84) and Cate Kreutzen (2:25.75) also competed in the event. 
  • Michelle Louie was the fastest Middlebury sprinter in both the 200 and 400. Louie clocked in at 26.11 in the shorter distance, while shaving .03 seconds off of her personal best in the 400, stopping the clock at 58.96. 
  • Annabel Cloney also broke the one-minute mark in the 400, recording a time of 59.42. In the 200, Cloney posted a time of 26.76 among 250 athletes. 
  • Melissa White and Eva Kaiden were right behind Louie in the 200, clocking in at 26.21 and 26.23, respectively. 
  • All three Panthers competing in the mile recorded personal-record times. Kate Kenny led the group (4:57.59), followed by Audrey Grimes (5:13.85) and Violet Ross (5:22.75). 
  • Shaving nearly seven seconds off of her personal best, Morgane Orcutt closed out the evening with a time of 10:37.11 in the 3,000. 
 
Four Panthers will race in the distance medley relay on Saturday, while the rest of the Middlebury team will compete at home in Virtue Field House.
