Amy Griffin of the Middlebury field hockey team has been selected as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Region II Player of the Year. She also landed a spot on the organization's all-region first team.Â

GRIFFIN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Griffin becomes the second Panther to earn the regional praises in the last five seasons, joining Erin Nicholas who claimed the award over three-straight years.
- The junior tallied her third all-region laurel and a spot on the first team for the second-straight campaign.
- Griffin was lauded as the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the second Panther to garner the accolade.
- The 2021 NESCAC Rookie of the Year earned her second-consecutive First Team All-NESCAC honors this fall.
- Griffin paced the league with 56 points (23G, 10A). Her goals (23) were tied for the top spot in the NESCAC, while her 10 helpers ranked fourth among conference peers.
- She finished the year ranking 11th in Division III in points per game (2.55) and 19th in goals per game (1.05).
- The Panther tallied a point in 18 of 22 games this fall, highlighted by a hat trick in the NESCAC Quarterfinals and the game-winning score in the NCAA Semifinal win over Babson.
- She also garnered NCAA All-Tournament honors for the third time in her career.
