Griffin has been named a finalist for the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year award.

Amy Griffin has been named the Division III Honda Athlete of the Year Finalist for field hockey as announced today by Executive Director Chris Voelz of THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.

"I am honored to be named as a finalist for this award," said Griffin. "I want to thank my coaches, teammates, trainer, friends, and family for getting me to this point. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a uniquely special and historic program and to be surrounded by teammates like mine every day. I'm grateful for the opportunities and support that Middlebury and the athletic department have provided."

GRIFFIN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Griffin was recently named the NFHCA National Player of the Year.
- The Panther also earned NFHCA Regional Player of the Year honors, was tabbed the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year, and secured a spot on the All-American, All-Region and All-NESCAC First Teams.
- The midfielder paced the conference and was fifth in the nation with 56 points this season, which was fifth in the program's single-season history.
- She also led the league with 23 goals, tying for seventh all-time in the Middlebury single-season record book.Â
- This fall, Griffin started all 22 games and recorded at least a point in 18 contests. The midfielder also registered two or more points in 15 games.
- She tallied seven multi-goal games this year and scored four game-winning markers, including the deciding tallies in the NCAA Semifinal victory over Babson and the NCAA Second Round triumph over William Smith.
- Griffin currently sits fourth in the Panther record books with 35 career assists.

All Honda Sport Award finalists from DIII and DII will vie for the prestigious 2024 Honda Athlete of the Year in their respective divisions, presented on a live telecast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 7 PM ET, from its new home in New York City. Griffin looks to become the third-straight winner from Middlebury, as Jane Earley '23 and Erin Nicholas '22 earned the award the last two years.Â
