The Middlebury volleyball team pulled away during all three sets on Saturday for a sweep of Trinity in the regular-season finale for both teams. With the triumph, the Panthers earn a top-three seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal contest on Sunday.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Tied at 4-4 in the opening set, Middlebury rattled off a quick 5-0 spurt to take a 9-4 lead.
- The Bantams clawed their way back into the stanza, tying the score (13-13) on a block from Bella Caffuzzi and Eva Lekovic.
- Knotted at 17-17, the Panthers put together a 6-0 run capped by a service ace from Campbell Keller, easing to the 25-20 victory.
- The second set saw Middlebury race out to an 8-2 advantage highlighted by a pair of kills from Molly Harrison.
- Trinity responded with 12 of the next 16 points, grabbing a 14-12 edge on a service ace by Julia Torre to force a Panther timeout.
- Middlebury answered with the ensuing seven points, highlighted by a solo block from Ava Tuccio for a 19-14 lead.Â
- The Bantams pulled to within three (19-16) on back-to-back kills from Lekovic, but the Panthers tallied six of the last seven points including four kills by Harrison to take the second stanza (25-17).
- The third frame saw the hosts move out to leads of 7-2 and 12-7. Trinity wouldn't go away, tying the frame (16-16) on a block from Ava Boloyan and Lekovic.
- The Panthers answered, recording nine of the last 10 points in the stanza, including two kills apiece from Lexi Linafelter and Lauren Baxter to take the set (25-17) and earn the sweep.Â
NOTES
- Harrison led the Panther offensive attack with 14 kills, marking the eighth-straight match and 19th time in 22 matches she has posted a double-digit kill total.
- Linafelter tied her season-high total with 10 kills to go along with three blocks.
- Gabbie O'Toole finished with 28 assists, giving her 20 or more assists in 71 of 72 career matches.
- The programs played for the 35th time with Middlebury owning a 27-8 advantage. The Panthers have won 10 of the last 12 matches against the Bantams.
The NESCAC Tournament seedings and schedule will be announced in the coming days by the league office.
