#3 Panthers Cruise Past New England College for Program’s 1,000th Win

The third-ranked Middlebury men's basketball team topped New England College 90-36 on Tuesday evening in its final home contest of the regular season. With the victory, the Panthers earned the program's 1,000th all-time win.

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Middlebury stormed out to an early 15-3 lead after just 4:48 of action, with Noah Osher capping the span with a shot from beyond the arc.
  • The Panthers continued to pull away throughout the first half. With 9:38 remaining, Nash Goldman sank a three to extend the lead to 30-12.
  • At the 4:01 mark, a layup from Lamine Cisse gave Middlebury its first 20 point lead of the game (34-14).  
  • The Panthers ended the first half on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a steal and score from Tristan Joseph as time expired, sending them into the locker room with a 43-20 advantage.
  • Middlebury opened the second half with a 12-3 run. Osher connected on another three at the 15:36 mark to increase the lead to 55-23.
  • With just over nine minutes to go, back-to-back layups from Peter Carlson and Charley Moore pushed the Panther advantage to 41 (68-27).
  • Middlebury continued to dominate the game, and a flurry of late points from Oliver Urena made the final score 90-36.

NOTES

  • The Panthers registered a season-high 25 assists in the victory.
  • Goldman recorded a career-best 12 points on the night.
  • Alex Sobel rejected four shots during the win, continuing his streak of 44-straight games with at least one block.
  • Middlebury has won all seven meetings with New England College.
