Lily Riseberg raced to the end line and scooped up the ground ball before dishing it to Anna Spehr who connected to make it 1-1. The Ephs took a 2-1 lead less than a minute later when Arvelo bounced in a free-position marker. Middlebury responded with four-straight goals to close out the half. Shue's diving shot at the 5:49 mark sparked the run, before a cutting Kelcey Dion buried the ball in the upper-left corner for the Panthers' first lead of the contest (3-2). Jane Earley found the top-left 90, before Niki Mormile beat a defender and tucked the ball into the far side of the goal with 18 seconds left to make it 5-2 at the break.

Middlebury carried its momentum into the third quarter, rattling off four-consecutive tallies. Grace Getman maneuvered around a defender and sent the ball into the back of the net with just 37 seconds expired. Susan Rowley lofted the ball over a defender's head, Dion converted a free-position marker from center hash and Maggie Coughlin scooped up a groundball and scored for the 9-2 cushion. Williams broke up the scoring frenzy with 6:46 left on the clock when Abby Godwin tallied a free-position goal. The Panthers responded with a 4-0 run to close out the quarter. Earley and Dion each completed their respective hat tricks, tallying two goals apiece in the final minutes for the 13-3 lead.

Spehr closed out the scoring for Middlebury with a pair of tallies in the fourth quarter to complete her own hat trick. Williams' Shea van Den Broek scored twice in the waning minutes for the 15-5 final.
