The eighth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team (8-4) completed a NESCAC weekend sweep with an 8-1 triumph at Hamilton on Sunday. The win marked the 10th-straight victory against the Continentals (5-5). The Panthers return home to host #17 Williams on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
The Middlebury tandem of
Claudia Miller and
Sahana Raman got out to a quick start, earning the first point of the match at #3 with a 12-minute 8-0 shutout.
Brinlea La Barge and
Sami Remis teamed up in the second slot, easing to an 8-4 victory to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead. Hamilton duo Hanna Apsey and Kat Roberts claimed the team's lone point in the top spot with an 8-5 win.
Ruhi Kamdar and
Kavina Amin packed a quick one-two punch at the bottom of the lineup, claiming straight-set victories to give Middlebury a 4-1 advantage. Kamdar finished first at #6 (6-2, 6-1), followed by Amin (6-3, 6-3) in the fifth spot. La Barge clinched the match, cruising in the top slot with scores of 6-0, 6-2. Miller, Raman and
