The Middlebury women's track and field team competed at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday with the distance medley relay team turning in a tremendous effort in winning its race. The Panthers will wait to hear about their NCAA Championships fate when the organization announces the 2022 field on Sunday. The championships will be held March 11-12 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The DMR team of Katelyn Pease, Michelle Louie, Nicole Johnson and Cassie Kearney combined for a clocking of 11:46.08, making it the third-best time in Division III at the conclusion of the meet. Kearney added a fourth-place effort in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.81, while Emily Bulczynski finished one spot later in 2:16.43.
Bea Parr bettered her personal best in the 5,000m by 10 seconds, crossing the finish line in 17:34.34. Kate Kenny claimed fifth in the mile with a PR of 5:04.42, while Zoe Wang tied for fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 11'0.25".
