Women’s Track & Field Places Sixth at Division III New England Championships

Kate Kenny won the mile with a personal-best time of 5:04.71.

The Middlebury women's indoor track and field team placed sixth at the Division III New England Championships this weekend at Colby. The Panthers garnered 72 points, while Williams (101 points) edged Tufts (100.50 points) for the team title.

The top-eight finishers in each event over the two-day event earned All-New England honors.

Middlebury had two runners secure All-New England honors in the mile, led by Kate Kenny's winning time of 5:04.71, which was a personal best. Katelyn Pease took fourth in the event with a clocking of 5:07.52. Emily Bulczynski posted a runner-up finish in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:59.37. Nicole Johnson was third in the 800m, completing the four laps in 2:15.93.

In the 4x800 relay, the team of Johnson, Bulczynski, Kenny and Bridget Ulian took third place with a time of 9:32.38, while the 4x400 relay team of Michelle Louie, Ciara Dale, Julia Munz and Elle Thompson placed fifth in 4:02.70.

Thompson crossed the finish line in sixth in the 600m with a time of 1:39.16, while Bea Parr finished in that same position in the 3,000m (10:08.30).

Cady Barns earned all-region honors in a pair of field events, bouncing her way to a distance of 37'1.25" in the triple jump to finish sixth and recording a seventh-place effort in the long jump (17'5.25").

Mary Scott Robinson claimed sixth in the shot put with a heave of 37'4.50".
