Panthers Record Numerous Personal Bests At BU Valentine Invitational

Elle Thompson recorded a personal best time in the 400m.
Several members of the Middlebury women's track and field team recorded numerous personal bests at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday evening. The rest of the Panther squad competes at the Middlebury Field and Track Meet on Saturday in Virtue Field House. 
 
Michelle Louie set personal records in both the 200 and the 400. In the 200, she paced the Panthers with a time of 25.71, shaving nearly a full second off her best time of the year. Louie was the first Middlebury racer in the 400, clocking in at 58.99 to break the one-minute mark for the first time in her collegiate career. Elle Thompson also recorded a sub-60 time in the 400, crossing the finish line with a personal best time of 59.17. The pair placed in the top-75 of the race in a field of nearly 200 athletes. 
 
Louie and Thompson teamed up with Ciara Dale and Julia Munz to break the four-minute barrier in the 4x400 relay, clocking in at 3:59.45 for the fastest time this season for Middlebury. 
 
Cady Barns placed 11th out of 30 athletes in the long jump, leaping to a distance of 5.35m. In the triple jump, Barns placed 13th with a mark of 11.28m. 
 
Charlie Keohane set a new personal best in the 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 8.57 seconds. 
 
Cassie Kearney stopped the clock in 2:12.22 in the 800, placing 30th overall and 21st out of collegiate runners. Nicole Johnson was just behind with a time of 2:13.46. 
 
Katelyn Pease set a phenomenal personal record of 5:02.73 in the mile, erasing her previous best time of 5:18.44 set just a week ago. Emily Bulczynski shaved nearly 16 seconds off of her personal best time in the event, clocking in at 5:08.13.
