The Middlebury men's ice hockey team fell 5-0 at Tufts on Saturday evening. The Panthers finish the weekend 1-1 after topping Connecticut College 3-2 on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS

Middlebury looked to take advantage of an early power play at the 4:26 mark, but Billy Dobensky's one-time bid from the top of the circles was denied by Jumbos' goaltender Gustave Bylin.
Just over a minute later, Andrej Hromic sent a cross-ice pass to EMack Bentley just inside the blue line. Bentley fired the puck on net, but the hard shot was turned away by Bylin.
Tufts earned a five-minute power play with 3:07 remaining in the opening period. Middlebury nearly killed off the penalty, but the Jumbos broke through with 1:54 elapsed in the middle frame when Cole Dubicki tucked his shot under the crossbar for the 1-0 edge.
With 12:49 expired, Wyatt Pastor wristed a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle, but his bid was thwarted by Bylin.
Just 10 seconds later, Tufts made it 2-0 when Jack Hughes' blast from the left dot trickled through traffic and into the goal.
Middlebury had a trio of chances in the final minute of the stanza, but a strong Jumbos defense held up to maintain the two-goal lead heading into the break.
Tufts tacked on three tallies in the final period. Hughes scored his second of the game with 1:44 elapsed, Harrison Bazianos capitalized during a four-on-three situation, and Brennan Horn capped the scoring with 9:15 remaining for the 5-0 triumph.
