Wesleyan was able to strike quickly again to start the second period. Tyler Levine sent a pass from behind the net to a cutting Stevie O'Connor, before O'Connor found the goal to make it 2-0 with  3:33 expired.

The Panthers made it 2-1 at the 15:40 mark after back-to-back shots by Bret Pastor and Chris Garbe were turned away by netminder Erik Boloshin. Jake Oblak broke through for Middlebury with the rebound from the doorstep.
