Panthers Shine In Field Events At Middlebury Winterfell

Zoe Wang placed first in the pole vault and second in the triple jump.
The women's track and field team finished in third place out of 10 teams at the Middlebury Winterfell on Saturday. Amherst won the meet with 187 points, followed by the University of Vermont (139) and the Panthers (121). The team is home for the third-straight week next Saturday, hosting the Middlebury Invitational. 
 
Zoe Wang took the top spot in the pole vault with a height of 11'1.75" and placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 35'3". 
 
Mary Scott Robinson won the shot put with a toss of 37'5" and placed fourth in the weight throw with a heave of 41'1.5". 
 
Briana Johnson earned runner-up honors in the long jump with a leap of 16'5.25". The Panthers had a pair advance to the finals in the 60m dash with Michelle Louie placing second (8.14) and Johnson finishing in sixth (8.42). Louie finished third in the 200m with a time of 26.85. 
 
Meaghan McEnroe placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.91. 
 
Katelyn Pease stopped the clock in 3:05.46 in the 1,000m which was good for third place. 
 
In the mile, Greta Sirek placed fourth in a field of 32 runners, clocking in at 5:26.45. 
 
The Panthers closed out the meet with a second place finish in the 4x400m relay. The quartet of Louie, Elle Thompson, Ciara Dale and Pease finished with a time of 4:06.79.
