Middlebury College has announced the hiring of
Catherine Harrison as the assistant women's basketball coach. A 2019 graduate, Harrison was a two-time captain of the Panther's squad.
"I am so grateful to work alongside Coach Krasco, the women's basketball program, the athletic department and the larger Middlebury community," said Harrison. "I have witnessed the excellence, impact and culture of this program firsthand and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue that legacy in this new role."
"I am thrilled to welcome Cat back to Middlebury," said head coach
KJ Krasco. "Her positive and enthusiastic personality, coupled with the experience and leadership she had on and off the court during her playing career, helped shape our program's culture. Cat has experienced the challenges and triumphs of being a Middlebury student-athlete and it excites me to welcome her back to work alongside me in continuing to mentor our student-athletes and lead a successful program."
Following graduation, Harrison worked for two years as a Client Experience Senior Associate at The Nebo Company.
Harrison made her mark during her time on the court at Middlebury. She is second all-time in career blocked shots (105) and is fourth in rebounds (746). Harrison helped lead the Panthers back to the NCAA Tournament in her final season, as the team concluded the year with a 20-win season. In 2016, she was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, contributing 11.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for the Panthers while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor. At the conclusion of her senior year, Harrison was honored with the Murphy Roberts '17 Memorial Award, given to the Middlebury athlete who inspires teammates with the selflessness, enthusiasm, and team spirit demonstrated by Roberts.
