The Middlebury women's track and field team boasted 14 first-place finishes, as the Panthers beat visiting Hamilton 102-69 Saturday on Dragone Field. Middlebury returns to action next weekend, competing at a quad-meet at Williams.

Prior to the meet, the team honored its senior members for their hard work and dedication to the program. Competing at home for the final time were Simone Ameer, Lauren Boyd, Kate Holly, Gretchen McGrath, Kai Milici, Chloe Smith, Victoria Toth and Emma Walsh.

Cassie Kearney provided a highlight for the hosts early in meet, setting a Dragone Field record in the 1,500 meters. She won the race with a record time of 4:34.09, besting the old mark of 4:35.28 set by Catherine Beck of Tufts in 2007.

Cady Barns was a double winner for the second-straight week, sailing her way to a top distance in the long jump (5.41m) and triple jump (11.63m). Walsh won the javelin for the second time in as many meets with a winning toss of 30.90 meters.

Smith was victorious in the longest race of the afternoon, completing the 5,000 meters in 18:53.91, while Eliza Broughton paced the field in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:52.27).

Middlebury shined in the sprints, as Eva Kaiden won the 100 meters (13.04), Michelle Louie was first in the 200m (25.87) and McGrath took top honors in the 400m (59.17). Katelyn Pease added a first-place effort in the 800m (2:18.98) and Caira Dale tacked on a win in the 400 hurdles (1:06.77).

That success carried over to the relays, as the quartet of Liza Toll, Kaiden, Jaqueline Topping and Joely Virzi (50.34) won the 4x100 relay and the team of Ashley Raynor, Kearney, McGrath and Louie (4:08.13) placed first in the 4x400.
