The Middlebury women's track and field team boasted several winning efforts at the Williams Quad Meet on Saturday, highlighted by a pair of new school records. The non-scoring meet included a number of NESCAC programs. A contingent of Panthers will compete again on Thursday at the Tufts Last-Chance Meet.

Cady Barns had a huge meet, setting a pair of program records on the day. In the long jump, she won the event with a record leap of 5.56 meters, edging the old standard of 5.55m set by
Alex Cook in 2019. Barns added another record-breaking effort in the triple jump (11.75m), bouncing her way to a third-place finish and topping the old record of 11.71m set by Kelly Coughlan in 2009.

Liza Toll,
Eva Kaiden,
Jaqueline Topping and
Joely Virzi won the 4x100 relay for the third-straight week, boasting a season-best time of 50.11 seconds. The 4x400 relay placed second, as the team of
Cassie Kearney,
Michelle Louie,
Emily Bulczynski and
Nicole Johnson finished in 4:07.36.

Ciara Dale picked up her third first-place finish of the spring in the 400 hurdles, completing the event in 1:04.90, while Kaiden took second in the 200 meters (26.01). Louie was second in the 100 meters with a clocking of 12.71 seconds and third in the 200 (26.05).

In the distance events, Kearney bested the field in the 1,500 meters with a winning time of 4:36.83.
Chloe Smith completed the 5,000 in 19:03.90 to finish third.

Mary Scott Robinson had a strong meet, winning the shot put with a distance of 12.03 meters, while claiming third in both the hammer throw (38.08m) and discus (31.36m).

Emma Walsh and
Leah Granger each added third-place performances. Walsh had a throw of 29.12 meters in the javelin and Granger cleared a height of 3.26 in the pole vault.
