Middlebury advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals with a 5-0 victory over MIT on Saturday in a match played outdoors on the Proctor Tennis Courts. The sixth-ranked Panthers (18-6) will play in an NCAA Quarterfinal match against fifth-ranked Wesleyan on Monday, May 20 at the Stowe Stadium Complex in Kalamazoo, Michigan, while MIT finishes its season at 14-6. Middlebury advances to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the 16th time in the last 17 years.

The hosts grabbed a 3-0 lead after doubles play. The Panther duo of Andre Xiao and Nate Eazor picked up the first point at No. 3 with an 8-2 win over MIT's Michael Zhao and Pablo Ampudia. Middlebury increased its lead to 2-0 when Noah Farrell and Alex Vanezis claimed an 8-3 victory over Sean Ko and Albert Go in the second flight. The Panthers completed the sweep when Lubomir Cuba and Peter Martin recorded an 8-6 win in the top spot against Alex Cauneac and Tyler Barr.

In the singles matches, Middlebury picked up its fourth point with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 from Adam Guo over Go. Minutes later, Cuba clinched the match when he defeated Barr at No. 1 by scores of 6-2, 6-2.

The four remaining matches on the courts went unfinished. Farrell took the opening set in the second flight of the lineup against Cauneac (6-4) and held a 5-4 edge in the second set. In the third flight, Xiao secured the first set 6-3 and was playing match point against Ko (5-4), while at No. 6, Stanley Morris lost the opening set against Victor Cheng in a tiebreaker (7-6 (5)) and Morris led 3-1 in the second when the match was decided.
