Panther Men Host Day Three of NESCAC Championships

Middlebury continued action on Saturday with several top-10 finishes while hosting the 2019 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship inside the Middlebury College Natatorium. Williams leads the way with 1,316.5 points, while Tufts (1,292.5) and Amherst (1,036) round out the top three. The Panthers remain in eighth place with 460.5 points.

During the opening event of the evening session, the 200-yard medley relay team of Brendan Leech, Jacob Fleisher, Will Pannos and Corey Jalbert recorded a ninth-place finish in 1:34.51.

In the night's first individual final, Alec Wilson touched the wall with a 12th-place effort in the 1,000 free, posting a time of 9:43.14. A few events later, Pannos finished as the runner-up in the 100 butterfly consolation final, winding up 10th with a mark of 50.32.

Leech wrapped up his evening as an individual with a 12th-place swim in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall with a time of 51.41.

The Panthers conclude the championship Sunday with morning preliminaries scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., and the finals session starting at 5:30 p.m. with the 1,650 freestyle.
