The Middlebury swimming and diving teams both picked up wins on Saturday afternoon in their home natatorium. The men earned a 174-124 victory over Springfield, while the women were triumphant by a score of 172-128.
Ben Merz, Bryan Chang, Will Pannos and Jake Gaughan were winners in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:37.96. Gaughan, Merz, Aidan McKenrick and Corey Jalbert took home the 200 free relay title in 1:27.96.
Jalbert earned home a pair of wins in the 50 free (22.01) and the 100 free (48.28). Other victors on Saturday were Chang (50 breaststroke-27.29), Merz (100 back-55.49) and Pannos in the 50 fly (24.26). Cody Kim picked up a win the 100 breaststroke (1:00.01), while Aska Matsuda touched the wall first in the 500 free (4:56.94).
On the women's side, Lily Siemasko, Maddie McKean, Audrey Hsi, Frances VanderMeer were winners in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:39.61.
Dual event winners on the day were VanderMeer in the 50 free (24.66) and the 100 backstroke (59.45) and Katie Cantrell, who won both the 200 free (2:01.30) and the 500 free (5:22.91). Hsi was the fastest in the 100 free (55.88), McKean won the 50 fly (27.00), while Haley Hutchinson was victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.38.) Winning the 3-meter diving competition was Mary Cate Carroll with 207.75 points.
