Middlebury wrapped up its fall season when it competed at the Bryant Fall Invitational. The Panthers squared off with the Division I Bulldogs for two days of hidden duals, as 10 singles matches and 10 doubles matches were contested on Saturday, followed by nine individual contests and five doubles matchups on Sunday.
On Saturday, Middlebury earned singles wins in four slots. Alex Vanezis claimed a 6-1, 7-6 victory, while David Vilys eased by 6-3, 6-3 scores. Aleksandr Samets was victorious 6-1, 6-3, while Zach Hilty won over his opponent 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles play, two Middlebury teams picked up a pair of wins. The tandem of Andre Xiao and Adam Guo posted identical 8-5 triumphs, while the duo of Vanezis and Aidan Harris tallied 8-7 and 8-4 victories.
In Sunday's play, Robby Ward slipped past his opponent 7-5, 7-6 (4), while Vilys won 6-3, 6-4. Samets recorded an 8-3 pro-set win, while Hilty bested his foe 8-4.
During doubles action, the pair of Ward and Vanezis won 6-3, while the team of Xiao and Guo moved to 3-0 for the weekend with a 6-2 triumph. Harris and Vilys also earned a 6-4 decision.
