The Middlebury volleyball team earned a 3-0 NESCAC victory over Connecticut College (25-18, 25-13, 25-11) on Saturday in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (10-5, 4-2) return to the court Friday with a 7:00 p.m. match at MIT as part of the New England Challenge, while the Camels (6-10, 0-7) travel to Elms on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

The first set saw Middlebury race out to a 10-2 lead, including three kills from Maggie Wise and a pair of service aces by Kelly Ferrero. The advantage grew to as many as 10 (18-8) on a kill by Wise, before the Mules sliced it down to 22-17 on an ace from Grace McGee. The Panthers tallied three of the last four points, capped by a kill from Isabella Marcus, to grab the opening set.

With Connecticut College up 5-4 in the second set, Middlebury posted a 15-4 run for a 20-9 lead on a Ferrero service ace and eased to the 2-0 advantage.

Knotted at 4-4 in the final set, Middlebury put together a pair of 6-0 runs and was never challenged in completing the sweep.

Wise tallied 10 kills to lead the hosts, while Jaime Donnelly had seven. Chellsa Ferdinand handed out 16 assists, while Emma Walsh ended the match with 15. Gigi Alper finished with a team-best 11 digs and three service aces, while Ferrero recorded a career-high four aces. Corley Doyle had a block solo and a block assist to go along with four kills.

Eliza Wolcott led Connecticut College with six kills, while McGee had 14 assists. Katie Howley recorded seven digs for the Camels.
