Middlebury utilized big runs in all three sets on Saturday, cruising past host Colby (25-11, 25-19, 25-16) in NESCAC play. The Panthers (9-2, 3-1), winners of six-straight matches and 18-consecutive sets, return to the court Friday when travel to Connecticut College for an 8:00 p.m. league contest.

Clinging to a 10-9 lead in the opening set against the Mules (4-8, 0-4), the Panthers rattled off 15 of the final 17 points of the stanza for the 25-11 victory. Middlebury tallied five service aces during the spurt, including 

The back-and-forth second set featured numerous ties and lead changes. With the score knotted at 19-19, the Panthers rattled off the final six points of the frame for a two sets to none lead. Isabella Marcus recorded a pair of kills during the run for the Panthers.

In the final set with Middlebury leading 3-2, the visitors put together a 9-1 run for a 12-3 advantage. The Mules pulled back to within six at 19-13 on a Panther attack error, but a quick 3-1 spurt by Middlebury increased the lead back to eight (22-14) en route to the three-set sweep.

Sarah Staver led the Middlebury attack with nine kills and a .643 hitting percentage, while Maggie Wise and Isabel Sessions both added seven kills. Chellsa Ferdinand handed out a match-high 26 assists. Claire White-Dzuro ended the afternoon with a team-best nine digs, while Sessions added eight. Corley Doyle recorded a block solo and three block assists to pace the Panthers at the net, while Staver finished with three service aces.

Colby was led by Paige Hanssen with match-best totals of 11 kills and 13 digs. Molly Manuel tallied a team-high 19 assists, while Erin Maidman had nine digs.
