The Middlebury volleyball team eased past host Ramapo (25-16, 25-13, 25-8) on Saturday in the Bradley Center as a part of the Ramapo Tri-Match. The Panthers (6-2) return to the court Tuesday when they host St. Michael's at 7:00 p.m.

With the first set tied at 4-4, the Panthers moved out to a six-point lead at 13-7 on a service ace from Isabel Sessions. The Roadrunners (4-10) chipped away at the deficit, pulling to within two (15-13) on a kill from Samantha Main. Middlebury responded with five of the next six points for a 20-14 lead and cruised to the set victory.

Knotted at 4-4 in set number two, the Panthers put together a 10-2 run for a 14-6 lead, including four kills from Sessions. Ramapo inched back to within six at 18-12 on a kill by Hannah Frascella, but the visitors ended the set with seven of the last eight points for a two sets to none advantage.

The final set witnessed Middlebury tally six of the first seven points and was never threatened to complete the three-set sweep

Sessions and Sarah Staver paced the Middlebury offense with 14 and 12 kills, respectively, while Corley Doyle and Maggie Wise each had six. Chellsa Ferdinand handed out a match-high 22 assists to go along four service aces, while Emma Walsh had 11 assists. Gigi Alper dug up 12 balls, while Staver added a career-best five service aces.

As a team, the Panthers posted a season-best .414 hitting percentage with 43 kills and just seven errors on 87 attempts.

Frascella led Ramapo with eight kills. Kate Shirkey tallied 12 assists, while Kristina Semple produced a match-best 19 digs.
