The Middlebury men's tennis team picked up its fourth win over a top-20 team during its trip in Texas, knocking off top-ranked Emory by a 6-3 score at the Austin Tennis Academy in Austin, Texas. The fourth-ranked Panthers (10-1) conclude their trip to the Lone Star State with a 10:00 a.m. match against second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Austin.

The Panthers took two of the three doubles points against the Eagles (8-4), who dropped their first match to a Division III opponent this season. The tandem of Hamid Derbani and Kyle Schlanger picked up the first point with an 8-5 victory in the second spot over Max Renke and Adrien Bouchet, while Lubomir Cuba and William de Quant made it a 2-0 Panther lead thanks to an 8-3 win at No. 1 against Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding. The Eagle duo of Aman Manji and Jonathan Jemison got Emory on the board with an 8-6 triumph over Middlebury's Allen Jackson and Timo van der Geest in the third spot.

During singles action, the Panthers earned five of the six points, as each match was closely contested. Cuba picked up the Panthers' third point with a 6-4, 6-2 score at No. 1 against Manji, as Middlebury tallied the first four individual matches to finish. Schlanger recorded a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Spaulding to make the score 4-1, while de Quant tallied the clinching point by scores of 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) over Jemison in the second spot.

Derbani posted the sixth point for the Panthers at No. 3, rallying from a set down for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) win over Bouchet.

The Eagles earned the final two points of the match when Goodman bested Jackson in the sixth spot (7-5, 6-4), while Alec Josepher edged van der Geest at No. 5 (2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2).
