The Middlebury women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday in Maine. The Panthers fell to host Bowdoin in NESCAC action by a 3-0 tally (25-21, 25-17, 25-22), but Middlebury rebounded for a three-set victory over Maine-Presque Isle in the day's second match (25-6, 25-15, 25-18). The Panthers return to the court Friday when they take on Babson in the opening day of the New England Challenge hosted by Williams.

Against Bowdoin (10-7, 7-1), Becca Raffel paced the Panthers with 11 kills to go with 16 digs, while Isabel Sessions had eight kills and 10 digs. Gigi Alper led all players defensively with 23 digs. Emma Walsh handed out 15 assists, while Chellsa Ferdinand tacked on 12. Alice Roberts had four block solos for the Panthers, while Eliana Schaefer added three.

In the final match against Maine-Presque Isle (9-15), Sessions tallied 10 kills on 15 attempts with no errors, while Schaefer and Roberts both added eight kills. Ferdinand tallied 27 assists, while Walsh recorded eight in her one set she played. Alper recorded a match-best 10 digs, while Emily Kolodka was right behind with nine. Shea Golden led all players with four service aces for the Panthers, while Roberts had two block solos and a block assists at the net for Middlebury.
