The Middlebury volleyball team won its fourth-straight match, picking up a 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-10) road victory at Colby-Sawyer (3-13). The Panthers (7-3) return to action on Friday night with a NESCAC contest at Connecticut College.

The Panthers raced out to a 7-1 lead in the first set behind three kills and an ace from Becca Raffel. The Chargers pulled within five twice more in the set thanks to three kills from Courtney Murray, but Middlebury eased away and ended the first on a kill from Chellsa Ferdinand. The Panthers hit .371 in the set.

The second set was closely contested and was tied 10-10 after a Naarah Cox kill pulled the Chargers even. Middlebury scored three-straight points until another Cox kill stopped the run. Leading 13-11, the Panthers used a 12-2 run, capped by an Isabel Sessions kill, to secure the second-set victory. Colby-Sawyer's Gabrielle Rodriguez had a set-high four kills while hitting .667.

Middlebury took early command of the third set and jumped out to a 10-2 advantage. The Panthers hit .407 in the set and received kills from eight different players to win the match, 3-0. 

Raffel led the offense with 10 kills to go along with a .400 hitting percentage (10-0-25). Sarah Staver added six kills with no errors, while Sessions and Eliana Schaefer each earned five kills. Gigi Alper led the defense with 11 digs, Raffel added eight, Emily Kolodka had seven, while Ferdinand chipped in with six and four service aces. Hannah Blackburn earned three digs and six assists in one set played, while Melanie English finished the match with one block solo and three assists.

Colby-Sawyer was led by a nine-kill effort from Courtney Murray. Rodriguez finished with six kills, while Cox hit .375 and had four kills. Morgan Flynn collected a match best 12 digs.
