The Middlebury women's golf team shaved 15 strokes off its day one score, finishing third overall at the eight-team Jack Leaman Invitational hosted by Amherst. The Panthers shot a 323 on day two, concluding with a score of 661. The hosts won the event with a 637, followed by Williams (655). The event was contested at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club.
Katharine Fortin came on strong Sunday, shaving eight strokes off her day one score with a 76 to pace the team in a tie for third place as an individual (160). Also bettering her Saturday score was Hope Matthews, who was six strokes better with a 79 to finish in a tie for eighth place (164). Monica Chow tied for 13th overall at the event (82-83-165), followed by Helen Dailey, who shot an 85 to tie for 25th overall (172). Lilia Everson was 10 strokes better on Sunday, shooting an 85 to finish with a 180, good for a 34th-place tie.
Also competing were Mika Wysocki (94-90-184) and Sarah Breckinridge (95-91-186).
