Colby made six of its first 10 shots and took a 21-10 lead after one quarter on its way to a 65-47 win over Middlebury (11-9, 3-4) on Friday evening in Wadsworth Gymnasium. The Mules (12-9, 4-3) knocked down 12-26 shots from beyond the arc during the win, while Middlebury went 0-8 from three-point range for the game. The Panthers return to action on Saturday afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. contest at Bowdoin.

The Mules led from start to finish, taking a 21-10 lead after one quarter behind four three-point shots by Carylanne Wolfington. Colby led by 15 points twice in the second quarter and took a 35-20 lead into intermission.

Colby's biggest lead of the game was 26 points at 54-28 with 2:48 left in the third quarter. Wolfington and Smith both had two three-point shots in the third quarter. The Panthers got as close as 14 points at 57-43 with 4:14 left in the game on a pair of free throws from Sarah Kaufman, but the hosts hung on for the win.

Eileen Daley finished with 16 points on 7-10 shooting, five rebounds and two assists to pace Middlebury. Colleen Caveney was 7-11 from the field to finish with 15 points and three assists. Alex Huffman had a team-high eight rebounds, while Catherine Harrison had six points and five boards.

Wolfington tied a school record with seven three-point makes for her game-high 23 points, going 7-10 from long range. Desi Smith was 3-6 from long range and chipped in with 15 points, while Mia Diplock added 11 points, four assists and two steals. Emily Davis came off the bench with seven points, seven rebounds, while Haley Driscoll added six rebounds and MaryKate Caverly had a game-high six assists.
