Williams won its second-straight NESCAC Women's Golf Championship by shooting a two-day total of 629 at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College. The host school placed second with a 631, followed by Amherst (648). The event also doubled as the inaugural George Phinney Jr. Golf Classic, a 17-team tournament featuring 96 golfers.
Middlebury's Chloe Levins took home medalist honors at the two-day competition, firing a 74 on day one and a 76 on Sunday for a two-day total of 150. She finished six strokes ahead of her nearest competitor, which was Elizabeth Gudas of Williams (78-78-156). Placing in a tie for third were Middlebury's Katharine Fortin (80-77-157) and Tracey Kim of Williams (80-77-157), while Williams' Phoebe Mattana (81-77-158) rounded out the top five.
Williams had a balanced team effort on day two, led by Gudas, Kim, Mattana and Sophie Kitchen (76-83-159). The Ephs held off a charge by the Panthers, who cut two strokes off their day one score.
Aiding Levins' and Fortin's efforts for Middlebury was Blake Yaccino, who turned in a pair of 80s to finish in a tie for seventh place, while Hope Matthews (89-79) and Theodora Yoch (85-83) rounded out the team scorers.
Individually, Helen Dailey (89-83) and Sarah Breckinridge (91-89) also competed for the Panthers.
