The Panther swimming and diving teams completed the dual meet portion of their schedules Saturday afternoon with a pair of tough tests at Williams. The fourth-ranked Eph women defeated visiting Middlebury by a 211-83 score, while the 11th-ranked Williams men defeated the Panthers, 186-94. Middlebury returns to action Friday and Saturday when it hosts the annual Middlebury Invitational. Action will begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m. while Saturday's events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
In men's action, the Panthers tallied a total of five victories in the pool and on the diving boards. Michael McGean was victorious in the 1,000 free (10:04.63) by more than three seconds, while Stephan Koenigsberger earned the win in the 50 breaststroke (27.65). Connor McCormick picked up the third victory in the pool, winning the 200 breaststroke by 4.87 seconds with a time of 2:15.37.
Runner-up efforts came from Jack McLaughlin in the sprint freestyle events. He touched the wall with second-place times during the 50 free (22.07) and the 100 free (48.82).
On the diving board, Will Greene claimed the 1-meter and 3-meter event titles with 232.72 and 217.57 points.
During the women's competition, Isabel Wyer recorded an event victory in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:56.07. She also posted a runner-up finish in the 200 back (2:11.93). Other second-place efforts in the pool came from Lucy Scott in the 1,000 free (10:54.13), Grace Stimson in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.47) and Morgan Burke during the 100 free (55.11).
Elissa DeNunzio dove to a pair of second-place finishes in the 1-meter (196.65 points) and 3-meter competitions (209.47 points), respectively.
